Your support has helped Salma move a step forward

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patrons,

Salma lives in Zuarinagar Birla ( small town in south Goa) with her parents in a very small rented house. Her parents are daily wage workers and have no stable job. Salma discountinued her schooling after completing her grade 10th since her parents couldn’t afford to support her and her two siblings financially.

During field work one of our El Shaddai staff met her and asked about continuing her studies, she said she would rather give up on her studies and take up a job in order to support her family. So we encouraged her to learn tailoring and explained her how useful it is for her and her family.

After few days’s she joined our vocational class, wherein she was given good training from the scratch. There she learnt to stitch different designson clothes, clothes and patterns. She was really happy to learn in an environment where she found so much of love and care.

After finishing her course of 6 months, she started her own tailoring business. Today she stitches cloths on her own and supports her family. She stitches cloths for her family and also takes orders from others and earns an income to support the family. It gives us immense pleasure and joy seeing her progress each day. She is very grateful for all the wonderful donors like you who have made her life meaningful, bright and beautiful.

Thank you so much for your support and we hope that you will continue supporting us for this much needed cause. We humbly request you to share this opportunity with friends, family, and colleagues so that they can be part of this project by supporting us in whatever way they can and all of us together can help many more women like Salma in the days to come. If you would like to regularly engage in this Endeavour and project, we encourage you to start a monthly recurring donation for a small amount, which will go a long way in giving them a bright future.
