Dear Friend!
Thank you for supporting Refugee Families in Ouagadougou
September 2025
On the outskirts of Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, 450 displaced men, women, and children are trying to survive after fleeing terrorist violence in the north of the country. These families left behind homes, fields, and villages destroyed by armed groups. They arrived with only what they could carry—many with nothing at all.
Daily Reality in the Camp
Life in the camp is extremely difficult. Families live in improvised shelters without proper sanitation. Mothers struggle to find food for their children, and many children have not attended school since they were forced to flee. Clothing, shoes, and hygiene supplies are scarce. Without outside help, survival is a daily struggle.
Our Response
Thanks to GlobalGiving donors, we are working with local missionaries to provide urgent and long-term assistance:
Food and Water: Distributing rice, beans, maize, and clean drinking water.
Hygiene: Supplying soap, sanitary products, and diapers to maintain basic health and dignity.
Clothing: Providing children and adults with shoes, seasonal clothes, and blankets.Education: Enrolling children in nearby schools and covering costs for materials, uniforms, and fees.
Recent Impact
300 families have received regular food parcels since August.
150 children have been supplied with school kits and are back in classrooms.
Hygiene kits were distributed to all families, reducing health risks in the camp.
Next Steps
The needs remain urgent and growing. With further support, we aim to:
Expand school access to all children in the camp.
Provide more stable shelter materials to replace makeshift huts.
Support medical check-ups and trauma counseling where possible.
Why It Matters
Behind every number is a story: a mother who walked days with her children to escape gunfire, a boy who longs to return to school, a grandmother who lost her home and now shelters three generations under one tarp. Your generosity is not only providing food or books—it is restoring dignity and hope.
Thank You
We remain deeply grateful for every donation that makes this work possible. By standing with displaced families in Burkina Faso, you are helping them rebuild their lives and offering their children a chance at a safer future.
