Help Poor Remote School of 820 Pupils Be Excellent

We are so excited!  Our project received its first donations yesterday on GlobalGiving's Giving Tuesday Match Day. A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated!  The 2025 school year ends on Friday and that means the next two months during the holiday break will be very busy at the school with repairs and maintenance and other projects that need completed before the new school year begins in early February.

Some of your funds will be used to tackle some of these small but important projects that have been needing attention but where we have had no extra funds to complete them. For example, some of our classrooms have never been painted on the inside and are looking very shabby.  The playground that was built in early 2016. It is now 10 years old and is in need of some repairs.

And at least half of the funds raised today, we plan on using to make sure we can pay for holiday and extra lessons for our 5th and 6th grade students. This is one of the most important factors in our 6th graders' continued success in the national exams that they take in November each year.

The attached photo was taken in August when I was in Agwata for 3 weeks visiting the school. It was very motivatinig to meet with the school's management committee, PTA and teachers and hear firsthand how excited they were for the success of the school and its students, and the school's recent designation as a model school for the district!

So, thanks again for trusting us and investing in our school. It inspires us, our teachers and the students and their parents as well!
