Dear Friend!

As Ukraine endures its fourth year of full-scale war following Russia’s 2022 invasion, the humanitarian crisis has deepened. On May 25, 2025, Ukraine experienced its largest aerial assault since the war began, with 367 drones and missiles targeting over 30 cities, including Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Odesa, and Lviv. These attacks resulted in at least 14 civilian deaths, including children, and injured dozens more.

In response, the Pallottine Fathers have transformed parish facilities in key cities into emergency shelters, providing refuge, food, and essential supplies to displaced families. These efforts are crucial as millions face displacement and infrastructure destruction .

Humanitarian Needs

The war has led to the destruction of approximately 2 million homes, leaving 3.4 million people homeless . Additionally, attacks on energy infrastructure have caused widespread power outages, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis

Immediate needs include:Shelter: Safe accommodations for families displaced by ongoing attacks.

  • Power Supply: Generators and fuel to maintain essential services amid power outages.

  • Basic Necessities: Food, clean water, hygiene products, and medical supplies.Psychosocial Support: Counseling services to address trauma experienced by civilians.

Project Objectives

  1. Expand Shelter Capacity: Adapt parish spaces in Kyiv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, and Lviv to house displaced families safely.

  2. Ensure Energy Access: Provide generators and fuel to maintain heating, lighting, andcommunication.Distribute Essential Supplies: Offer food, water, hygiene kits, and medical aid to those in need.

  3. Offer Psychosocial Services: Implement counseling programs to support mental health and resilience.

Implementation Plan

  • Infrastructure Adaptation: Renovate parish facilities to accommodate families, ensuring privacy and safety.

  • Procurement: Purchase generators, fuel, and essential supplies from local vendors to support the economy.

  • Distribution: Coordinate with local volunteers and organizations to distribute aid efficiently.

  • Monitoring: Regularly assess the needs of beneficiaries and adjust services accordingly.

Expected Outcomes

  • Shelter for 500 Families: Provide safe accommodations for displaced individuals.

  • Energy Access Restored: Ensure continuous power supply in shelters.

  • Essential Needs Met: Distribute necessary supplies to maintain health and dignity.

  • Improved Mental Health: Offer counseling to help individuals cope with trauma.

Your support is vital in addressing the urgent needs of families affected by the war in Ukraine. Contributions will directly fund shelter renovations, procurement of generators and supplies, and the provision of psychosocial services. Together, we can offer hope and stability to those in dire circumstances.

Thank you for your compassion and commitment to humanitarian aid.
