Dear Friend, saying thank you for your great support, we present you the project update.
As the war in Ukraine continues into its fourth year, millions of children have seen their schools destroyed, lessons disrupted, and their daily sense of security shattered. Beyond the immediate need for food and shelter, families now face the long-term challenge of ensuring that children do not lose their chance for education and a better future.
Current Situation
In many regions, classrooms no longer exist – they were either bombed or converted into shelters. Parents, already under the stress of displacement and survival, struggle to provide learning materials or even safe spaces where children can focus. Without structured education, many children risk falling behind irreparably, deepening the generational impact of war.
The Pallottine Fathers, together with volunteers, have extended their support beyond shelter and food by creating temporary learning spaces within parish facilities. These spaces serve as both safe havens and community centers where children can continue learning, and parents can find moments of relief.
Our initiatives include:
School-in-a-Box Kits: Providing displaced children with notebooks, pens, and textbooks.
Safe Learning Spaces: Equipping parish halls with tables, chairs, heaters, and internet access for online classes.
Tutoring and Language Support: Offering Ukrainian and foreign language lessons to help children adapt in case of relocation abroad.Creative Workshops: Using art, music, and drama as tools for healing trauma and restoring a sense of ormalcy.
Recent Achievements
450 children in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Lviv have already benefited from our educational programs since July 2025.
12 safe learning rooms were set up in parish facilities, equipped with basic furniture, whiteboards, and heating systems.
Over 300 school kits were distributed to families who had lost everything in displacement.
Weekly art and storytelling workshops help children process trauma in supportive group settings.
Looking Ahead
With your continued support, we plan to:
Expand learning spaces to Odesa and nearby rural areas where displaced families are settling.
Provide psychosocial training for volunteer teachers, equipping them to better address the needs of children in trauma.
Purchase additional laptops and tablets so children without access to technology can continue their studies online.
Organize family resilience workshops to support parents in navigating this prolonged crisis.
Why This Matters
Education during war is more than academics – it is a lifeline of hope and stability. Every book, every safe classroom, every hour spent learning instead of fearing bombs brings children closer to a future where they can rebuild their country.
Gratitude
We are deeply grateful to all GlobalGiving donors who make this work possible. Your contributions are not only providing shelter and food but also planting seeds of hope and knowledge in the hearts of Ukraine’s youngest generation.
Together, we are proving that even in times of destruction, learning and hope can endure.
