Dear Friends,
We’re writing to share the latest on our menstrual health response in Gaza. As always, we remain profoundly thankful for your support as we work to uphold the dignity and wellbeing of girls in Gaza amidst ongoing crisis. While the situation on the ground remains incredibly devastating and challenging, we are steadily moving forward thanks to your generosity and belief in our mission.
We’re excited to report that the first batch of 800 of our menstrual kits is currently in production! The kits will be delivered to the Médecins du Monde (MDM) headquarters in batches, a strategic decision to help us better understand and respond to the logistics realities involved in getting aid into Gaza.
In preparing this shipment, we’ve taken important steps to make the kits even more inclusive and responsive to girls’ needs. Based on field insights from MdM’s medical staff, we’ve expanded our kit size range to better meet the needs of girls visiting their clinics. This means we’re now including both XS and XL sizes - ensuring more girls can benefit from a comfortable and secure fit. We’re in coordination with MdM to determine which sizes to prioritise for each shipment, making sure our resources are as targeted and impactful as possible.
At the same time, we’ve adapted the educational brochure included in each kit to reflect the realities girls are facing. The revised version now includes updated guidance on washing the components with limited water, as well as safe alternatives for managing menstrual cramps when items like hot water bottles aren’t available. These small changes are the result of listening and collaboration with our partners and community.
We are working tirelessly to ensure these kits reach girls in Gaza safely and your support is what makes this possible. Thank you for standing with us. We’ll keep you informed as we continue this essential mission.
With deepest gratitude,
The Project Soar Team.
