Dear donors and supporters,
We are thrilled to share an exciting update from our initiative “Each School, A Bird to Care For”, which will take place between July and December 2025 in five rural schools of the Lake Tota basin. This creative journey combines art, nature, and conservation through five engaging activities: storytelling with Kamishibai, a field trip for bird observation, an illustration workshop at Xieti Reserve, mural design, and painting the final mural on school walls.
Each school will adopt a bird species, learn about its habitat, and express their commitment through a collective mural. These murals are not just art—they are powerful conservation messages created by children who will become guardians of local biodiversity.
The culmination will be the Múcura Award, a recognition under our larger program “Help Us Raise Wetland Conservation by Prizing Kids”. The top murals will be celebrated during the El Muyso Festival, rewarding creativity and environmental stewardship.
Your continued support makes these moments possible, inspiring rural communities to reconnect with nature while protecting vital wetlands. Together, we are planting seeds of awareness that will last for generations.
Thank you for helping us make conservation a colorful reality.
