Summary

We do everything we can to keep children with their families. However, when there is no other option, we strive to create a different kind of environment. Our children's home consists of 15 houses, each accommodating up to eight children. Every house is cared for by two house mothers who cook and provide daily support. Additionally, we offer on-site resources to help the children engage with the community. The hart of our mission is to foster a strong sense of family.

Challenge

Many children are left with nobody to support or care for them and this is when they are brought to our home. Traditionally children homes are crowded and limited on resources which means large dorm style rooms. The amount of children needing to be re-homed in Africa is constantly growing and a big concern for us.

Solution

Our home is important to give children as close as possible to a normal life, on our site we have 15 houses all with gardens ands space and that home two house mothers. To give a feeling of family life no more than 8 children are resident to one house, on site we have also provided homework centres, exam prep rooms, computer lab and other resources to help the children after school gain more skills and become attractive to employers.

Long-Term Impact

Long term these children will grow up in a family environment and providing extra resources will learn and become successful in the future to help them understand the importance of family when they have children.
