3rd report project: People fleeing gang violence

This third report presents the actions carried out as part of the support provided to internally displaced persons who are victims of gang violence in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area. Thanks to the contributions of three (3) supporters, the organization Action et Transformation has been able to continue its support for families living in particularly difficult and dehumanizing conditions.

The main objective of this phase of the project is to provide an immediate response to the essential needs of displaced families, primarily through the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) component, in accordance with the organization's intervention strategy.

With the resources available, the organization took a pragmatic approach to directly address daily emergencies.

The water distributed enabled families to:

•   wash their clothes and blankets;

•   clean their living spaces;

•   have a bath;

•   prepare their meals.

This action proved essential in maintaining minimum hygiene standards within the displacement sites.

In support of water distribution, liquid detergent (Apollo) was also provided to families.

Its use facilitated:

•   Clothes washing,

•   Maintenance of living areas,

•   General improvement in daily hygiene.

The organization expresses its deep gratitude to the three (3) donors whose contributions made it possible to continue activities.

Although their names cannot be publicly mentioned, Action et Transformation addresses a big thank you to them for their solidarity, trust, and commitment to displaced families. As winter approaches, families' needs remain urgent and significant. The organization invites potential donors and partners to bring their support by making a donation via the GlobalGiving platform, particularly during this Giving Tuesday.

Every contribution goes directly and in full to help vulnerable people. 96 families each received a bottle of Apollo detergent containing 16 FL OZ (1/2QT) 0.5 L, and 2,000 gallons of water for everyday use were poured into the tank at the camp for displaced persons.

This third report demonstrates the concrete impact of the actions carried out thanks to the generosity of supporters. Action et Transformation reaffirms its determination to continue supporting displaced families and encourages all partners to continue supporting this urgent humanitarian mission.
