Between March and May 2025, Te Aud Romania continued its mission to support Ukrainian refugees across Romania through the project Together Forward. This initiative, made possible through a strategic partnership with GlobalGiving, reflects our shared commitment to dignity, inclusion, and long-term integration for those displaced by conflict.
In April, we were honored to receive a grant from GlobalGiving, enabling us to expand our reach and deepen our impact. This support came at a pivotal moment, allowing us to respond more effectively to the evolving needs of the Ukrainian community. All activities were developed in close consultation with EDNAE Association—the only women-led refugee organization in the region and our key liaison with the Ukrainian community—ensuring that our interventions were not only relevant but also community-driven.
Our work focused on four interconnected pillars. First, we prioritized the empowerment of children and youth, aiming to prevent segregation and foster intercultural dialogue through inclusive educational and recreational programs. Second, we supported Ukrainian mothers in Suceava County, helping them navigate linguistic, bureaucratic, and emotional challenges while building a sense of belonging in their new environment.
Third, we recognise the vital role of seniors (65+) in preserving cultural identity and community cohesion. Tailored workshops were designed to support their integration and well-being. Finally, we shall invest in capacity building—training local actors, authorities, and community leaders to create systemic, sustainable solutions that benefit both refugees and host communities.
In April, we provided financial support to EDNAE by covering their rent, enabling them to continue serving over 500 individuals, including children, adolescents, and elderly refugees.
In May, we launched a sports psychology program for 11 rugby coaches, equipping them with the emotional and mental tools to better support children and promote social impact through sport. The goal relates to supporting key actors to better integrate Ukrainian refugee children into their programs and understand their needs.
