Christine, known to the Imani family as Chichi, was born in Mtepeni village and raised by both of her parents. She is the eldest daughter in a family of eight siblings. At the age of 21, she got married and settled in Mtepeni with her husband, and together they have been blessed with three beautiful children.
Chichi joined Imani Collective when she was 22 years old—just a year after getting married. At the time, she didn’t have any formal skills, but she was determined to do whatever work she could to support her young family. Through the training offered by Imani, she learned how to sew, and over the past 13 years, she has grown into one of the most talented seamstresses at Imani Collective.
Her journey is a testament to her determination and hard work. Chichi is not only dedicated to her craft but also deeply passionate about it. She’s incredibly grateful that Imani took a chance on her when she first came seeking an opportunity. Today, she’s able to support and educate her children, and she’s proud of the woman she has become—the best version of herself.
