IsraAID Nepal’s Community Theater Program, “Maan ko Chautari” in on tour in Nepal.
Our spirited team of Gorkha District has recently accomplished theater performances in the most remote part of the district, above 3000 meters’ altitude. The performance was the first psycho-social intervention ever in this area, which required 6 days of trekking one way.
We have reached and touched the lives of people living in the far-end of the Himalayas. Despite various geographical challenges and a language barrier, our team dedicated 33 days to engage communities with important topics such as Mental Health and Psychosocial support. In order to connect with all the community members, 22 shows were conducted, day and night, regardless of hours of walk in the cold climate.
We are honored to have such enthusiastic and hardworking team members. The program is far-reaching and creating a platform to learn and discuss mental health issues in these communities - otherwise neglected and left behind.
In the meantime, IsraAID Nepal’s other programs are running successfully in other parts of the country. We thank you for your help and support through GlobalGiving - our programs would not be possible without it!
