In April, IsraAID successfully completed "PSS workshop on suicide prevention “as the eight and last thematic topic of family counseling, under the “Building Stronger Roots Project”. The project benefitted 64 individuals from different cultural background and representing organizations working on Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support (MHPSS), with issues related with suicide. This year in April we celebrated the World Health Day with the theme “Depression: Let’s talk”, as majority of suicides is linked with depression worldwide. Nepal has the second highest per capita suicide rate in South East Asia and ranks 7th in the world. IsraAID provided trainings to the mental health professionals and individuals working in the field of MHPSS in enhancing their skills and knowledge through our international expert
The training was beneficial for the participants to make them better understand about suicide and learn the effective tools and techniques for dealing with these issues. Namely relationship of depression to suicide, depression in kids and adults, resilience building, role of family in suicide prevention, counseling techniques, importance of peer support and were also provided some case presentation and discussion on the case which gave the participants better understanding and ways of dealing with cases related to suicide.

On April 25th, two years had passed since the April 2015 Gorkha earthquake in Nepal.
Looking back at the day, that awful event which changed our life and left 9000 dead and millions homeless, commemorating all the departed souls and battered hearts.
IsraAID came to Nepal on the third day after the earthquake and has been initiating and implementing life-saving and long-term interventions. since that day We are committed to continuing our support in Nepal and improve the lives of the earthquake victims.
