Have you had a chance to meet Hendrix yet? He’s the newest member of the EATSF herd, and after a successful three-month trial period, we’re thrilled to announce that he is officially part of the family! Standing at an impressive 16.2 hands, this dark bay Off-the-Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) immediately captures hearts with both his beauty and his gentle presence. Although Hendrix never raced himself, he comes from notable lineage, his grandfather was the very first racehorse imported from Japan to compete in the United States!
At just 8 years old, Hendrix is still a youngster with a bright future ahead of him. Before joining EATSF, he enjoyed a career as a jumper and even dabbled in dressage, experiences that have given him a wonderful foundation for his new role. Earlier this month, he officially began his work in our therapeutic riding program and has already connected beautifully with two of our participants. His calm demeanor, willingness to learn, and natural sensitivity make him an exciting and promising addition to our herd.
Over the coming winter and spring sessions, we’ll continue introducing Hendrix to more participants, ensuring he has the time, training, and support to grow confidently into his new job. We can’t wait to watch him flourish and to see the incredible impact he will have on the individuals we serve.
