You really help us to change the world!

By Monika Mostowska | vicepresident

Dear Friend and Supporter,

We are happy to bring you another update on our ongoing project "Hostel for the tribal girls in India".  Your continued support is transforming the lives of tribal girls in Tripura and giving them access to education, dignity, and a safer future.

Progress Since Our Last Update

The hostel is now home to 34 girls, many of whom come from remote interior villages, often separated by hills and forests. Their families live in extreme poverty, and without this hostel, continuing education would simply not be possible.

Thanks to your generosity:

1. Safe Shelter and Daily Needs:
The girls now have access to clean drinking water, nutritious meals, and a clean, safe place to sleep. This stability has become the foundation for their academic and personal growth.

2. Academic Support and Tutoring:
We’ve introduced evening study hours with the help of a volunteer teacher. This has already shown results – many girls improved their exam scores, and two were recognized by their schools for academic excellence.

3. Value-Based Education:
In addition to formal learning, we’re nurturing values such as cooperation, responsibility, and respect. The girls participate in weekly sessions focusing on character-building and life skills.

4. Medical Check-ups and Hygiene Kits:
All girls recently received basic hygiene kits (soap, sanitary pads, towels) and underwent health check-ups. We are grateful to our local health volunteers who continue to support us.Stories of HopeSarika, age 13, walked nearly 9 kilometers each way to school before she joined the hostel. Now, she dreams of becoming a nurse. “I want to help others like I have been helped,” she says with a shy smile.

Looking Forward

With your help, we aim to:

  • Increase hostel capacity to 40 girls by the end of the year.

  • Provide basic digital learning tools such as tablets and internet access.

  • Begin a small-scale vocational training program in tailoring and sustainable farming.

Your support is not just providing food or shelter. It is nurturing a generation of confident, educated, and empowered girls, ready to lead their communities toward a brighter future.

Thank you for walking alongside us on this journey. Please continue to share this project with your friends and family. Your encouragement and donations are shaping lives in powerful ways.

With gratitude and hope,
