Dear Patron,
Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust. We bring to you our latest report on “House of Hope- A Way out for Homeless women”.
Homeless women in India face significant challenges and vulnerabilities, including violence, lack of access to basic services, and social stigma. While the exact number is difficult to determine, it's estimated that women make up a substantial portion of the overall homeless population, with some estimates suggesting they comprise around 10%.
El Shaddai commits to restoring broken lives, especially those on the slippery slope of homelessness and social exclusion. For that purpose, we offer a safe, structured environment for making a fresh start in life for all those wanting to rebuild their lives and have opened a women’s Shelter named “House of Hope.” We feel that Homelessness is not just a housing issue, it intersects with a range of other problems.
We have a beautiful story of a woman named Jamuna (name changed). She was found roaming on the streets with wounds and bruises on her body. To fill her stomach, she took to begging. One day our team member came across this woman and could not bear to see her sad plight and lead her to the “House of Hope”. Here she was welcome with warm food, clean clothes, a beautiful bed and love and care from the Home staff. She was so happy that one could see her eyes light up.
There are many such women who are waiting just for a ray of hope and for someone to show them kindness.
We are grateful to all our sponsors, donors, well-wishers for supporting this cause and breaking the cycle of homelessness for women because every small act of kindness can make a big difference. We extend our gratitude to all in joining us in supporting homeless women for every woman deserves a safe place to call home.
With Gratitude
Sincerely
El Shaddai Family
