More books, more schools! Project Update (Q3 2025)

By Stuart Patience | Board Member

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for your ongoing support over the past months. Because of you, we can keep training teachers and sending books to schools, working together with local schools so Indonesian children can grow up loving to read.

Add-on
Since 2022 we have supported more than 60 schools (over 18,000 books!) with a Library in a Box, and this year we have taken it a step further by starting a trial with an free add-on. This helps teachers even more to integrate the library into their daily routines and support children in understanding what they are reading. We still hear so often about schools that don’t have any books besides textbooks, which highlights a continuing challenge: there are not enough leveled reading books. This is exactly why Library in a Box is such a valuable tool. It provides schools with a variety of leveled books and practical support for teachers, giving children the chance to read at their own level and develop a true love for reading.

Improvements
In our last update we wrote about registering on different platforms, which we hope will help more schools discover our library in a box and see how it can benefit them. We are also currently revising our book list. This is an exercise we do regularly to ensure we get the most books for the price and choose the right books for different reading levels. By reviewing the list carefully, we can make sure children have access to books that match their abilities and interests, making reading both enjoyable and effective. It also allows us to include new titles, keeping the library fresh and engaging for every student.

New Partners
We are always looking for more partners who want to support a school with a library. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please let us know. We love sharing the joy of reading!

Ayo! Suka Membaca!
