GVI are continuing their work with the community of Mahahual and in researching the effects of the Hurricane on the reef offshore. Through the GVI-Charitable Trust, Global Giving and fundraising in the UK we are now able to further aid the communities, especially with re-building their homes and ensuring healthy conditions for the villagers. Thank you for your efforts so far. We are continuing to spread the word about this disaster as there has been a shocking lack of international coverage due to the fact that this hurricane missed the main tourist centres of Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Updates will follow with more specifics as to where the funds are going, but so far Global Giving and other fundraising sources have accounted for around $2,500.
