IsraAID Dominica has kicked off 2026 with a major win for school safety! In a powerful collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence, IsraAID has officially equipped 47 teachers from across the island with life-saving First Aid and CPR skills.
By mastering everything from high-pressure CPR techniques to the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), these educators are now prepared to serve as vital first responders within their schools and wider communities. As Wynela Francis, IsraAID’s Senior Programme Officer, shared: "Increasing the number of trained staff will directly contribute to increased school safety and emergency preparedness."
This achievement, made possible with the expert facilitation of the Dominica Fire and Ambulance Services, is just the beginning. With more training sessions planned for the coming months - alongside the arrival of new safety equipment - we are ensuring that Dominica’s schools are not just places of learning, but hubs of resilience ready for anything.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to bridge the gap between emergency relief and long-term community safety.
