It has been nearly three months since any humanitarian aid was able to reach Gaza due to the ongoing blockade. During this time, civilians have been pushed to the brink of starvation and dehydration, with urgent medical needs going unmet. According to reliable sources, May 20th marked a partial lifting of the blockade, allowing some humanitarian trucks to enter. However, the situation on the ground remains so severe that this initial delivery is only a drop in the ocean compared to the scale of the needs.
In response, IBC is actively working with our local partners in the region to coordinate operations and avoid duplication of efforts. We are currently preparing to dispatch trucks loaded with essential supplies including food parcels, medical items, hygiene basics, and canisters of clean drinking water. As we await final permission to enter, our teams are ready to act swiftly. We are grateful for your generous donations, as $500 will provide 5 families with 5 food baskets and nearly 300 liters of safe drinking water, including them in our upcoming distribution.
Meanwhile, IBC has continued to support communities enduring prolonged trauma, uncertainty, and loss in Gaza. In the first quarter of 2025, we successfully completed the second phase of our “Supporting Resilience and Mental Health” project in Middle and South Gaza. The initiative focused on the rising mental health and psychosocial needs of displaced families, caregivers, and children affected by the ongoing conflict, which directly reached 4,468 people, with women and children making up the majority of beneficiaries.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your solidarity with the people of Gaza and invite you to continue supporting our efforts on the ground to assist the vulnerable communities there.
