That is why WONDER pairs education and vocational training with mentoring. Women and girls gain practical skills and have someone beside them while they do it. Someone who listens. Across the world, women and girls are pushed out of education and work, and locked out of opportunity by poverty, instability and lack of support. Talent is not the problem. Support is. Without confidence, guidance and stability, even the strongest woman can struggle to turn training into lasting change.
When mentoring is integrated into training, outcomes change. Last year alone, women in integrated skills and mentoring projects earned over 2.1 million, started 436 businesses and helped bring 1,842 children back into school. This is not theory. It is what happens when women are supported while they learn. Through this campaign, WONDER will support 500 more women and girls receive that same integrated support.
If we reach our goal, women supported by WONDER's partners will go on to earn over 13.1 million, start 2,725 businesses and bring 11,512 children back into school. That is generational change. When a woman builds skills with mentoring beside her, income stabilises. Children stay in school. Confidence returns. Families grow stronger.
