Instruments for over 450 young musicians

Thanks to your continued generosity, Nucleo has had another extraordinary year of growth, music, and community. Last month, we celebrated our brilliant young musicians, their supportive families, dedicated teachers – and you, our incredible supporters – at a truly memorable event at Cadogan Hall.

Your support, both in spirit and in person, makes a real and lasting difference. Through our charity partnership with Cadogan Hall, now entering its second year, our students have had the unforgettable opportunity to perform in one of London’s most iconic venues – an experience that inspires confidence, pride, and joy.

Every week, over 400 children and young people choose to learn music with us. They don’t just develop their musical skills – they grow in confidence, independence, and resilience. Our latest data shows:

• 89% of students feel connected to others at Nucleo – a sense of belonging that helps them perform fearlessly in front of audiences of up to 700 people.
• 93% believe they play with good technique.
• 80% were rated as having a Good or Excellent attitude to learning by their tutors.
• 96% say they feel proud to be part of the programme.

These outcomes are a testament to the power of music and the strength of the community you help sustain. A large proportion of our students commit to four sessions a week – and they do so with joy and enthusiasm. Many go on to join prestigious junior conservatoires, but all of them tell us that Nucleo has helped them grow as people.

Your donations ensure that cost is never a barrier to participation. You’ve helped create a space where young people can thrive – musically, socially, and emotionally – and where families feel part of something bigger.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, Nucleo reached its 12th birthday in February! With years of experience and accumulated robust data, we can now confidently say that thanks to your generous donations, Nucleo can support young people to develop themselves through music. Our latest impact report shares even more insights into what makes Nucleo so special and the positive impact that young people and their musical involvement brings to their families.

As you know, every week, over 400 children and young people choose to learn music with us. They don’t just use the opportunity to improve their musical skills – they also build self-confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging that they often describe as ‘family’. In fact, 89% of students say they feel connected to others at Nucleo, and we’ve discovered that this strong connection correlates with feeling more confident playing as part of a group. Our young musicians tell us they are not scared to perform in concerts because they can hear their friends playing around them. This support is also reflected by parents and carers, who express their investment in the progress of all students: “It's good to see them. Not only [them] but all the kids”.

We are delighted to share that the next opportunity to experience firsthand the talent and dedication of our young musicians will be on 26th June at Cadogan Hall, with whom we launched a charity partnership in 2024. At a time when the long-term offering of instrumental lessons in schools is steadily declining, your generosity ensures that cost is not a barrier to sustained musical engagement at Nucleo. We provide lessons six days a week, and our free, immersive programme means that most children attend at least two to four times a week, with attendance among senior students reaching 83%. 

Your donations have created a space where children and young people can thrive, which has further opened doors for additional collaborations and partnerships. Together, we can ensure that cost is not a barrier to sustained musical engagement and fostering a strong, supportive community.
