Be a Founder: St Martin's Mom's Empowerment Center

Project Overview

The center for mums is an ambitious and heartwarming project aimed at craeting a safe and nurturing envirmoent for the women, girls and children from the Kibagare community. The construstion of the center began on the 6th of June and its curently ongoing, with significant progress already made. The project is being carried out in phases, Phase 1 will have a shell of the lower ground floor with the ground floor fully complete and ready to use once done.

Key Milestones and Progress

The journey to bring the center for mums to life has been marked by seveal important milestones:

• Shortlisting and selection of bidders - On April 20th, we carefully shotlisted and selected bidders who demonstrated and have proven experience to undertake this project.
• The tender invitation was held from 24th to 25th followed by a seven day tender period.
• Bids were submitted on May 2nd and a thorough analysis was conducted on 5th May to ensure the best possible outcome for the project.
• The development committee of the school, a part of the school managemebt board met to discuss the progress, process, budget and later on conducted interviews on the 24th of May to finalize the process.
• On May 28th, Daima Construction was selected to undertake the project, Marking a significant step forward.
• Preliminary works commenced on June 6th, including hoarding, demolition, excarvation, carting away debris and laying the foundation.

Bidding Process

The bidding process was competitive and traansparent, ensuring the best possible firm was selected to undaertake this project.

• A total of 10 bidders were invited to participate in the tender process
• Out of the 10 invited bidders, 5 submitted their bids on time
• Among the bids submitted, 3 were within the budget, demonstrating the feasibility and financial prudence of the project.

The community center will provide essential services, support and a sense of community ensuring the community feels valued and cared for.
