GEM and the Jennifer Albee Enrichment School extend their profound gratitude to GlobalGiving and all our generous donors for their continuous support to the children of Liberia.
GEM- Liberia is pleased to present its quarterly report. The periodic report is part of the Germinating Every Mind-Liberia's commitment to GlobalGiving and donors. This period's report covers from September 2025 to January 13, 2026.
Huge Milestones
Academic Excellence
During the period under review, the school marked the completion of Second Marking Period Test with 76% of the students scoring a pass in all 11subjects. Three 6th grade students in a class of five are set to be promoted to the 7th grade by the close of the 3rd period. Those students have exhibited good academic standards despite the difficulties they are faced with at home and in their communities. Also, in the 9th grade, all seven students demonstrated quality performance in all literacy courses with each student being able to independently write effective paragraphs.
Celebration of Skills & Tradition
As a culture in Liberia, all schools celebrate the Christmas Holiday. The students at the Jennifer Albee Enrichment School built their first self-made-Christmas tree (see photo). This initiative was led by the Catering and the Arts & Crafts department. As students celebrated throughout Liberia lighting imported brand Christmas trees, students at the Jennifer Albee Enrichment School celebrated the festive season using their creativity and acquiring vocational skills that set them in a position to make them entrepreneurs.
First Parent Teacher Association Held
The school had its first PTA meeting in December with parents pledging their support to the school. Parents expressed appreciation for the level of academic improvement and moral guidance students receive from the school. Parents also expressed gratitude for the vocational arm, as it is enabling the students to develop skills that are helpful to the learners’ development.
Conclusion
We express our gratitude to everyone who has placed in their resources in our project, helping us to reach the level we are at. Thanks to GlobalGiving for affording us the space for such wonderful fundraising opportunity.
