Joey
Joey’s family faced a terrifying emergency. Their beloved pup had vomited up three rocks and was still very sick. Fearing another rock was stuck, they rushed him to an emergency clinic, but the cost of care was out of reach. Desperate to save their beloved pup, they turned to Second Chance. All Second Chance Community Veterinary Hospitals offer affordable care to everyone and those that qualify can receive additional subsidies to ensure access to care for all.
Within hours, Joey was in surgery at our hospital. Our team removed a large rock lodged in his small intestine.
Thanks to affordable, accessible veterinary care, Joey is on the road to recovery and back home where he belongs—safe, loved, and healthy.
Your support makes stories like Joey’s possible. Together, we keep pets and their people together. Thank you!

Avery
Meet Avery, a 5-year-old kitty who came to Second Chance in a lot of distress after vomiting. His worried owners rushed him to the ER, where he was diagnosed with a GI obstruction. Unfortunately, surgery was out of their financial reach, so they turned to us for urgent help.
Within hours, we had Avery in surgery, and our team discovered the culprit – a hair tie lodged in his intestines. Thanks to the quick response, we were able to remove the hair tie and get him on the road to recovery.
Avery is expected to make a full recovery, and his owners are incredibly grateful for the care he received. We’re so happy to have been able to help! Thank you for supporting us so we can continue to provide life-saving access to care to pets like Avery! Together we are transforming lives - one pet at a time.

Breaking News: Second Chance Deploys Mobile Units

At Second Chance, we go where we are needed most. Recently, our team mobilized to Lynn, where there are limited resources for pet owners. Thanks to a partnership within the community, we were able to respond to the call for help to assist their residents.
Our team performed 38 spay and neuter surgeries through the state's voucher program, and the next day, we continued our mission. Through our Homebound to the Rescue Program, made possible by donations from supporters like you and grants including support from the Banfield Foundation, we're able to offering no-cost services to residents in low-income housing. These services are coordinated with community organizers to focus on helping those in need, ensuring that pets can stay with the families who love them.
But we can't do it alone. Your support is crucial to meet the growing needs of pet owners in communities like Lynn. Your gift will help us continue providing life-saving services to pets in need. Every contribution ensures we can keep families together and pets healthy.
