Kibra Rising: Project Elimu Dance at the Kenya National Theatre

Dear Valued Supporters,

August 24th, 2025 marked a milestone moment as our students proudly graced the stage of Kenya's most prestigious venue - the Kenya National Theatre. Kibra Rising transformed that afternoon into something extraordinary, showcasing the exceptional talent of young dancers from Project Elmu center in Kibera.

The Impact in Numbers

45 young performers aged 7-21 showcased their skills
100+ community members attended the sold-out show
100% of proceeds directed to after-school programs in Kibera
15 families received sponsored tickets to watch their children perform

What unfolded that afternoon was more than entertainment - it was a celebration of resilience, dreams realized, and the undeniable truth that when given the platform, our community's brilliance shines brightest. Our dancers, delivered performances ranging from ballet, contemporary and urban dance that left the audience speechless.

We would like to thank you for making Kibra Rising an unforgettable success! Your generous support enabled us to showcase the incredible talent of our young dancers on one of Kenya's most prestigious stages.

Following the incredible success of Kibra Rising, we're now aiming to expand our impact even further. Our next goals include:

Establishing a permanent dance studio within our Kibera center.
Launching quarterly showcases to give more children performance opportunities.

Your support makes this possible. Every donation to our ballet school directly funds; weekly dance and arts classes, performance costumes and equipment, safe after-school spaces and mentorship programs.
