Leadership Academy in My Pocket (LAMP) is Women's Education Project's mobile-first platform, transforming our proven experiential curriculum into a dynamic, tech-powered, hybrid experience that bridges career access gaps for young women from under-resourced communities. LAMP supports all program elements: classroom learning, field trips, skill workshops, peer-led clubs and mentor sessions as students explore 11 future-focused career paths.
Women make up half the world's population but only 39% of the workforce, contributing just 37% of global GDP. Social and economic barriers, limited digital access, and lack of mentorship and networks prevent millions of young women from securing dignified employment. Their exclusion from decision-making and the formal economy has far-reaching consequences for families, communities and global progress.
Leadership Academy in My Pocket (LAMP) is WEP's low band width, mobile-first platform. LAMP bridges education and career access gaps for young women as they explore opportunities along 11 career paths: Science, Environment & Sustainability, Agriculture & Food; Technology; Health & Nutrition; Hospitality & Care; Journalism, Marketing & Communication; Creative Arts & Expression; Entrepreneurship; Finance, Budgeting & Accounting; Education & Teaching; and Social Services & Civic Engagement.
WEP's 2025 Impact Assessment report showed that 81% of our students entered formal sector employment or are pursuing further education. 92% receive regular mentorship. 43% of alumnae are mentors. 89% are satisfied with their careers. 75% have learned new skills. 94% are actively learning new skills and seeking guidance.
