Happy Trainees in the training centre
Happy Trainees in the training centre

Based on the project goal to establish an African Beads & Print crafts & ‘Jua-Kali’ vocational business training for self-sustaining entrepreneurs centre has been set up in Nairobi in a rental place. The skills trainings on Beads work, Embroidery, Cooking, Beauty & Hair and Basic Business Administration classes has happened during the one month period of training. The recruitment process was very much thorough to recruit the right beneficiaries. There were 30 trainees were recruited, out of 30 only 27 of them managed to complete the course of one month, three of them did not complete the full training  because of their personal problems.

The expected impacts from the training of 4 weeks are felt based on the plan;

  1. Each trainee has received with a Basic JUA-KALI Skills certificate for BEAD work & one other specialism (Cooking/Beauty & Hair Dressing).
  2. Each trainee has received a starter pack as per the plan for their start up business.
  3. Each trainee produced bead product and earned average $60.00 for their own business.
  4. The trainees are now self- motivated and eager to achieve their future goal through the soft skill trainings they have received.
  5. The trainee are processing to register the CHAMA (savings and loaning group) it takes time to get a registration.

The funds received for this cause managed to complete the first session of the training. We appreciate our well-wishers who donated their time and money to succeed the noble cause. Waiting more funds to continue the next training class.

The management thank you and appreciate every one of you involved in the process of fund raising and brought the vulnerable girls on lime light to boost their morale. In appreciation!
