Bringing children back to the classroom

By Marianella Paul | Director

The Pandemic limited in-classroom attention these past two years. As a result, many children and adolescents with autism have faced developmental and intervention delays.

Today, there are no restrictions on school openings. Our community is thrilled, relieved, and happy.

A child in school develops the skills to become more independent and, in turn, their family. In addition, teachers and their families benefit from the opportunity to work and thrive.

Yet, the cost of living has risen (i.e., 2021-2022, 56% in US$ dollars), and we expect financial support to be the decisive enrolling factor for as many as 90% of those applying to our in-person programs. How do we ensure the well-being of our families today and tomorrow?

We are re-organizing and re-designing operational processes to improve the scope and quality of our traditional services and consolidate the newly developed. We aim to achieve the most impact in skill development in a child or adolescent with autism by providing specialized in-person education and services that promote and enable a structured and predictable environment at home.

In the next eight months, we will focus on providing access to our in-classroom psychoeducational program and operate at total capacity. To ensure sustainability, we will hire and train more teachers and psychologists, develop a new generation of specialists in the area, and additional / younger talent within Autismo en Voz Alta.

In 2022 our goal is to serve as many families as we did in 2020 when Covid hit.

We THANK YOU for providing us the opportunity to continue offering effective, creative, and meaningful support for as many families coping with autism as possible. It is our privilege to count on your support and trust.

At Autismo en Voz Alta, we are committed to ensuring the well-being of our kids and patients. They are the driving and inspiring force; serving them is an honor. Your kind donations make it possible.
