Dear Patrons,

Hope you are fine and doing well,

Access to safe and dignified menstruation is a primary need for women and girls. Despite the elementary need, many girls and women in rural areas cannot practice good menstrual health and hygiene at home, at school, at work or in other public settings, due to biased society, inexact information, poor provisions, and restricted choice of absorbent materials. When sanitary products are hard to acquire, individuals may be obligated to resort to using unhealthy alternatives that can increase their risk of reproductive and urinary tract infections. This lack of access to safe sanitary products during COVID-19 poses a real threat to the health and safety of people that menstruate.

El Shaddai works to improve girl’s and women’s menstrual health and hygiene by providing absorbent sanitary pads and other hygiene kits consisting of soap, shampoo, towel, hand sanitizer, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. every month. We distributed more than 1000 packs of sanitary pads and hygiene kits so far all across Goa. The families are contacted and asked to come to our centre to collect the hygiene kit every month. In case if they have difficulty in coming to the centre, our field workers visit the slum areas everyday and distribute hygiene kit and sanitary pad to all poor families.

We still need your support to buy more safe and affordable sanitary pads to benefit girls and women in our society and we shall continue to educate and create awareness to break the myth about menstrual health in the state of Goa. your donation makes all this possible we are hopeful your donation will keep more young girls empowered with dignity.

If you like to regularly engage in this Endeavour and project, we encourage you start a monthly recurring donation for a small amount, which will go a long way in giving them a bright future. The link to a recurring donation is:
