At the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center in Nakuru, something wonderful has begun to grow — and it’s not just in the classrooms. With the help of their teachers, our children lovingly placed each tree in the soil, learning firsthand how to care for living things and how today’s efforts can blossom into tomorrow’s rewards.
Planting trees is always a hopeful act — it’s about the future. But planting fruit trees goes a step further. It’s about future food. One day, these trees will bear sweet, nutritious fruits that the children helped grow themselves — a beautiful lesson in sustainability and responsibility.
We’re incredibly thankful to all of the kind-hearted supporters who make it possible for Live and Learn in Kenya International to provide both education and nourishment to children in need.
While the orchard grows, our most immediate priority remains the daily meals we serve. Every school day, the children at our kindergarten, elementary school, and junior high school receive a small breakfast and a hearty, nutritious warm lunch. On Saturdays and even during part of school breaks, every LLK child is welcome to come to the Center for a filling lunch — because no child should have to learn on an empty stomach.
If you have a reason to celebrate — a birthday, a milestone, or simply the joy of giving — consider celebrating by donating a meal to the children in Nakuru. Sometimes the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that spread joy, warmth, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
Asante sana - thank you so much!
