" My Journey as a Gawad Pangarap Scholar" by one of our 1st College Graduates

By GRACE APUSEN | Project Leader

I can still vividly remember how my life as a student changed ten years ago. As a fresh elementary graduate, I tried my luck and applied for the initial screening of the Special Science Class at Tagudin National High School. That moment marked the beginning of an educational journey that would eventually lead me to where I am today. I was fortunate to be chosen as one of the candidates for the first batch of Gawad Pangarap Scholars, and even more blessed to pass the essay writing assessment and interview.

I began my high school journey as a proud scholar of the Gawad Pangarap Foundation. The program supported me not only financially but also emotionally—it inspired and encouraged me to soar high and pursue my dreams. I studied hard to prove to our sponsors that their help was deeply appreciated and never taken for granted. After six years as a scholar, I graduated from senior high school with honors. As a ways of showing gratitude, I made sure to finish with flying colors.

I thought my journey as a scholar had ended there—but God had other plans. Once again, He used the foundation to support me through college. My college life was tough, but with the help of Gawad Pangarap, I was able to pay my clinical fees and enroll each semester until I completed my degree. Now, I am a proud college graduate, holding a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery and graduating as a Cum Laude.

I know I would not have achieved any of this without the Gawad Pangarap Foundation. This program didn’t just help me dream—it helped me achieve those dreams. My heart will always be grateful to all the sponsors of this foundation—our second mothers and fathers—who guided us every step of the way. As I prepare to embark on a new journey, I will carry with me the lessons and values I learned from the foundation. And hopefully, in God’s perfect time, I can also say, “I was once a scholar, and now I am a sponsor.” That is my ultimate dream—to give back and help, just as I was helped and blessed.

With all my heart, I sincerely thank the Gawad Pangarap Foundation. No matter where life takes me, I will always look back to where I started ten years ago—as a young girl full of dreams who was able to achieve them because of this incredible foundation.

The photo below marks the beginning of my journey as a Gawad Pangarap Scholar—a moment filled with hope, gratitude, and the promise of a brighter future. Holding my new backpack alongside fellow scholars, I felt a deep sense of purpose and excitement, knowing that this opportunity would open doors to learning and growth. It was more than just receiving school supplies; it was the start of a meaningful chapter built on hard work, dreams, and the support of a community that believes in our potential.

A re-count of one of our Gawad Pangarap Scholar from High School to College, What an incredible feeling to have supported her financially with all the help from our dear Sponsors and Donors. Our heartfelt Thank You to you all. May you continue to believe in our endeavor  by donating to the link : http://goto.gg/38937.  Thank you so much.
