The Living Lab initiative, a collaborative project between the Taiwan Love and Hope International Charity and Shu-Te University (STU), continues to gain momentum as we seek to build a sustainable ecosystem of academic, community, and industry stakeholders. The initiative aims to develop inclusive and socially impactful programs that engage students, faculty, and marginalized populations—particularly institutionalized and neurodivergent children—in innovative educational and caregiving models.
Recently, I presented the Living Lab proposal to the Taiwan International Friendship Association (TIFA) to explore its potential involvement. TIFA’s broad international networks and longstanding commitment to intercultural understanding could play a vital role in expanding the reach and visibility of the initiative. Our goal is to secure support from individuals and institutions aligned with the mission of inclusive innovation, community empowerment, and youth development.
Initial feedback from stakeholders has been positive, and I am currently in the process of recruiting STU faculty members to join a core team responsible for piloting the first set of activities. We are also identifying students interested in University Social Responsibility (USR) work and training them to assist in field-based engagements at both STU and the Child Development Center.
Further meetings are scheduled with government and private sector contacts to explore additional collaborations and support pathways.
