Could you imagine growing up never having read a book? In our community of San Andres Itzapa, Guatemala that is a reality for many students. Access to books in our community is difficult as they are unaffordable for families and even schools. But we know that it doesn't have to be this way. The goal of this project is to provide 80+ preschool to Grade 2 students with access to 64 age appropriate children's books in Spanish each year. Literacy, in particular the ability to read, is not only an essential life skill that changes students' lives but it also helps them reach their potential. A donation of $25 sparks students' love of reading by providing their teachers with 1 high quality, age appropriate children's book in Spanish. Consider making a donation to spark a students' love of reading and let's combat illiteracy in Guatemala today. Also, don't forget to send us a note including the name of your favorite children's book!
Thanks so much for considering being a part of this great project,
Best wishes,
Colleen
