More Than a Meal: Dignity in Uncertain Times

Dear Friend,

As we move through 2026, the challenges facing displaced families in Greece and Syria remain significant, but our resolve remains strong. Your recent contributions to this project have allowed us to maintain stability for children and young adults whose lives have undergone significant transition.

From the Ground in Crete

Recently, we've focused heavily on our "education pillar". For vulnerable youths in Greece, learning the language is the key that unlocks the future. Your donations have funded Greek and English tutoring, ensuring they don't just sit in a classroom but actually participate and thrive. One of our students recently shared that they finally feel "at home" because they can talk to their neighbours. This is the power of your solidarity.

Emergency Relief in Syria

Across the Mediterranean, the situation in Aleppo remains fragile. Our "Food Basket" program continues to be a lifeline. More than just providing calories, each basket serves as a reminder to a mother that the world cares about her. By providing these essentials, we allow families to stay together and keep their children in school rather than sending them to work.

What’s Next?

We are currently $4,736 away from our funding goal for this phase. Our immediate priority is covering the rising cost of medical treatments for the six children, like S., who are currently under our care and require specialised surgeries and therapies.

Every donation to this project is a vote for a child’s future. Whether it is $10 for a bus ticket to school or $300 to secure a year of housing for a family, your impact is immediate and deeply felt.

Making a Difference to a Child's Life Today

In a world where millions of children are facing conflict, displacement, poverty, and a lack of education, our mission to support them is more critical than ever. The sheer scale of the need means that many incredible organizations—from large international charities like UNICEF and Save the Children to smaller, local groups—are all rightly seeking support for vulnerable children across the globe.

How We're Different: Focused Impact and Human Dignity

While we recognize and value the efforts of all organizations dedicated to children, our project is defined by a commitment to quality over quantity and a laser-focus on human dignity and solidarity.

We differentiate ourselves in a few key ways:

Targeted and Personal Support: Unlike larger, often slower-moving organizations, we act with speed and agility to address specific, complex problems for the children and young adults we serve (from Belarus to Iraq, with a special emphasis on Greece and Syria). Our smaller scale allows us to provide more person-centered and holistic support, quickly adapting to needs that larger systems might overlook.
Comprehensive, Immediate, and Long-Term Solutions: We don't just offer one-time relief; we invest in solutions that have a lasting impact on a child's entire future.
- Immediate Relief: Providing essential food baskets and clothing during emergencies.
- Life-Saving Medical Care: Supporting critical treatments and surgeries for children, with 25 children receiving medical care this year.
- Stability: Paying rent, especially for women-led families, to provide a stable home environment.
- Education: Organising tutoring, school supplies, and transportation, having supported the education of over 150 children recently.

Our work is an investment in the future, providing the essential pillars—care, health, and education—that equip children with the skills to overcome hardship and break free from poverty.

The children we serve are facing the consequences of conflict, displacement, and complex social situations, often experiencing poverty, social exclusion, and a profound lack of opportunities. Your support allows us to address these immediate needs while also investing in their long-term well-being, focusing on the quality of our interventions to ensure lasting change.

Let us share a story that truly embodies the spirit of our work:

Meet Maria: When Maria, a bright 9-year-old girl from a displaced family in Greece, first came to us, she hadn't been to school in two years. Her family had endured significant hardship, and simply getting enough food was a daily struggle. Thanks to your support, we were able to provide her family with emergency food baskets and essential clothing, ensuring their immediate needs were met. More importantly, we helped Maria enroll in a local school, providing her with school supplies and transportation. Today, Maria is not only thriving academically but has also found a sense of stability and joy. Her story is one of many; since 2020, we've supported the education of over 150 children, with more than 80% completing their primary schooling.

Beyond education, your donations enable us to provide:

Life-Saving Medical Care: We arrange for critical medical treatments and surgeries for children with complex conditions. We're proud to report that we have successfully facilitated 25 complex medical cases, offering hope where there was once despair.
Safe Housing and Emotional Support: For children who have experienced trauma, a safe and caring environment is paramount. We support them and their families with housing and emotional support.
