Dear Supporter,
In July we organized another service project group to go to Mal Pais Public school and continue with the work we started with our previous group. It was great to see how much the corn we had previously planted with the students and teachers had grown, and the students were very excited to show it off to us.
We all quickly got straight into our tasks, volunteers working alongside the teachers and students. We painted the exterior of the new classroom, yard work with machetes and rakes, planting, and general resource organization. We also had time for a fun yoga class with the students. At the end of the day, we were all hot, sweaty and dirty, but pleased with all the work we had accomplished together. There is still much to do and many more service project groups planned for the near future.
Our early learning project in Mal Pais welcomed 5 new students in July and we also celebrated Annexation of Guanacaste on the 25th of July with a wonderful dance and song presentation in traditional dress. Followed by a collaboration lunch open to the community.
We continue to work with Futuro Verde our local bilingual and environmental school. The project is exciting for us as Futuro Verde hopes to make bilingual progressive education more accessible to students, no matter their ethnicity, social-economic, religion or developmental state. As Futuro Verde pushes towards becoming a world school, it is actively looking for support to help raise the much-needed funds for the move to their new location.
Thank you for your generous support.
With Gratitude,
GVI Charitable Trust
