Malaika Guardians 2026: quality education in TZ

We are excited to share our 2024 Annual Report with you.

This document is more than just an annual summary; it tells the story of a year of shared commitment, made possible by the invaluable support of every donor, volunteer, and staff member. It shows how, together for over twenty years, we have provided a safe home, medical care, and quality education for the children at the Malaika shelter in Tanzania, building a future full of opportunity for them.

2024 was a year of growth. We were proud to see four of our young people finish their secondary education and move on to university or the workforce. We joyfully welcomed two new little ones and successfully launched the "Towards Independence" project. This project allows the four oldest teens to begin living outside the home, under our continued supervision.

Your donations have allowed us to invest in projects that make the home more self-sustaining. The candle factory operated at full capacity for the first time, and the 77% increase in sales enabled us to hire a dedicated staff member. We also launched the "Egg Project." Thanks to a dedicated fundraiser, we began construction on a chicken coop, which will provide another source of self-funding.
