We are so proud of the impact we’ve been able to make over the past 5 years. Our workshops teach Kizimkazi boat drivers best practices for protecting the dolphins and creating sustainable, ethical tourism. The Conservation Club has empowered students to put their learning into practice and inspire them to make a difference.
We kicked off 2019 on a powerful note, with new workshops, new hotel and agency partners, and a lot of enthusiasm! In January, we recruited 4 new hotels and are currently expanding our reach to larger hotels and booking agencies. The growing booking and interest in tours lowers the tourism impact on the dolphin population, increases income for our boat drivers and motivates untrained boat drivers to participate in our workshops.
Additionally, the boat drivers just received their new t-shirts and hats which identifies them in their ethical training. We have never seen them so happy!
During the month of May, we all collectively sat down together to draw up a three year plan to expand the program and expand the impact. We are so excited to share with you all soon and in return will be finalizing this fundraiser! Donors like yourself have truly made a huge impact on the boat drivers and all the students who attend conservation club. We are so excited to launch our new plan with big ideas!
