In January 2026, the MCH project in Kawthaung continued providing essential services through mobile clinics, ensuring access to healthcare despite the temporary suspension of the fixed clinic.
A total of 70 patients were assisted, with high female participation. During the month, 32 antenatal care visits were conducted, 30 new pregnancies were registered, and 30 mother and newborn kits were distributed.
All cases were managed at primary care level, with no referrals required. Health education activities strengthened prevention and awareness among pregnant women.
Despite ongoing challenges related to security and regulatory procedures, the project continues to deliver a positive impact on maternal and child health in remote communities.
