Menstrual health for deaf women in Zimbabwe

Building on its previous initiatives, Nzeve remains dedicated to advancing menstrual hygiene awareness within the deaf community. 

During a four-day Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) camp supported by Amplify Change, Nzeve engaged with a group of 30 girls from Mutare Urban, Chipinge, Mutare Rural, Mutasa, and Makoni. In addition to participating in training workshops on various SRHR issues, these young deaf women also received important education on menstrual hygiene and received hygiene packs .

Nzeve remains deeply committed to raising awareness about menstrual health within the deaf community. The organization recognizes the unique challenges faced by deaf girls and women in Manicaland and continues to place their menstrual health education at the forefront of its work.

One participant expressed her heartfelt gratitude, explaining that the hygiene pack she received gave her a sense of security and confidence she had never known before. Having started using the products during the camp, she felt empowered to manage her menstrual health with dignity and ease.

Nzeve remains steadfast in its mission to educate and empower deaf girls and women, ensuring they have both the knowledge and resources necessary to care for their menstrual health.
