they need our help, please!

Project Overview

Mental health remains a deeply neglected aspect of public health in many parts of the world, and Rwanda is no exception. Youth, in particular, face growing challenges, including stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and stigma surrounding mental health issues. This project aims to empower 500 Rwandan youth with knowledge, tools, and resources to understand, manage, and seek help for mental health concerns.

Through awareness sessions, workshops, and peer support programs, we seek to foster an environment of openness, resilience, and hope.

Objective

To increase awareness and understanding of mental health among 500 young people across Rwanda, reduce stigma, and encourage access to mental health services.

Key Activities planned

  • Community-based workshops and discussions
  • Interactive mental health education sessions in Churches and youth centers
  • Distribution of informational materials in Kinyarwanda and English
  • Training youth champions to promote mental wellness in their communities

Current Status

Despite strong enthusiasm and readiness from our team and local stakeholders, the project has not yet begun implementation due to limited funding. We are currently in the fundraising phase and are seeking support to bring this vital initiative to life.

Funding Needs

We need financial support to cover key costs such as:

  • Materials and printing of educational resources
  • Transport and facilitation fees for trainers
  • Venue rental for workshops
  • Refreshments and logistics for participants

Call for Support

We are calling on our donors, partners, and well-wishers to stand with us. Any amount - however small - can make a difference. Your contribution will go directly towards creating safe, supportive spaces for young people to learn about mental health and access the help they need.

Why This Matters:

Mental health is not a luxury - it is a necessity. By empowering young people with knowledge and support, we are not only helping individuals but also building a healthier, more resilient Rwanda.

Conclusion

Together, we can break the silence, fight the stigma, and bring hope to hundreds of youth in Rwanda. We sincerely thank you in advance for your generous support.
