In July 2025, we celebrated the result of talented young African Female Artists from our 2024/2025 cohort expressing themselves freely through art and having the platform to be heard.
Ten artists representing five countries, guided by five expert advisors and four mentors, thirty-two completed intensive learning sessions, and four master workshops with industry experts births the INTERSECTIONS. A meeting point of heritage and innovation, solitude and sisterhood, the seen and the deeply felt.
Intersections was a transformative experience that explored individuality and unity. Their works reflected heartfelt stories, personal histories, experiences and cultures from the heart of Africa. Featuring thirty-five works by ten African female artists.
Participating Countries include: Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya and South Africa.
Hosted by Aina Gallery, on Saturday the 26th of July 2025 by 4 pm.
Visitors stepped into bold, immersive narratives shaped by the voices of emerging African women. Through acrylics, oils, charcoal, and mixed media, each piece told a story—bold, unfiltered, and undeniably powerful.
The emerging African female artists featured in this exhibition are:
Sedinam Gbeku (Ghana), Sandra Oluchi Nwoko (Nigeria), Joviah Nabir Yo (Uganda), Lauren Ehimare (Nigeria), Samuella Graham (Ghana), Christine Ochieng (Kenya), Franca Ilevbaoje (Nigeria), Blissing Uzoatuegwu (Nigeria) and Silindokuhle Shandu (South Africa).
The Exhibition reflects their individuality, creativity and unit. Individually, they address or question issues in their respective tones, yet together speak in one strong voice. Their works reflect personal histories, cultural roots, and dreams for the future. For these daughters of Africa, Intersections is the meeting point of heritage and innovation, solitude and sisterhood, the seen and the deeply felt.
This vibrant showcase is testament to what is possible when young African women are given the tools to dream, create, and lead. It reflects not just their voices, but the power of mentorship, opportunity, and belief.
Thank you for walking this journey with us. Together, we are not just witnessing change, we are creating it.
