Celebrate the Power of Mobility On Children`s Day

Dear friend of Motivation Romania,

In Romania, June 1st is a happy occasion each year. Parents and communities celebrate International Children`s Day, and children are happy that the day is all about them, filled with play, friends and good time.

On Children's Day, we continue to celebrate the power of mobility and its impact on children's lives.

We introduce you to Mykyta – a 9-year-old boy from Ukraine who took shelter in Romania, as a refugee. He is now a second-grade student at the "Emil Gârleanu" Special School in Galati.

Before we donated a wheelchair to him, he was a withdrawn, quiet, introverted child. Everything changed when he received a wheelchair adapted to his needs, from the Motivation team in Galati. From that moment on, an obvious transformation began, which even teachers consider surprising. Mykyta turned into an active, cheerful, confident student who is present in everything that involves play, learning and interaction. Because he manages to move safely in his chair and no longer has to ask for help every time to get from one place to another, he always seeks the company of his classmates and happily participates in class activities.

Mobility is not just about movement. It means access to childhood. To education. To friends. To relationships with those around him. It means a life in which a child who says "I want it, too!" can actually participate.

Each year, Motivation gives back hope to more than 1,000 persons with disabilities like Mykyta, by donating wheelchairs and providing wheelchair skills training. The new wheelchair gives them back their personal independence, mobility and the ability to be part of the family and the community again.

Continue to donate to the Wheelchair Fund so that people with mobility needs like Mykyta can regain their hope in a fulfilled life!

Motivation is here to support each wheelchair user on this route, one at a time. As new wheelchair users ask for our help, YOUR donation enables us to continue to support them. Your monthly gift will boost our ability to respond quickly to the ongoing need for appropriate wheelchair donations.

Make a monthly gift of hope and freedom of movement to children and adults with mobility disabilities like Mykyta!

YOU help change lives for the better. Thank you!
