Loropio Girls (Wakanda Girls) Secondary School continues to serve as a place of rescue, protection, and hope for girls taken out of early marriage. Many of these girls come from vulnerable situations where education was beyond reach and their futures were shaped by cultural pressures rather than personal choice. Today, the school stands as a powerful alternative, giving them a second chance at life.

Education as the Foundation for a New Beginning

Every girl enrolled at Wakanda studies free of charge, thanks to generous supporters. This sponsorship is more than financial assistance; it is an invitation for each girl to rediscover her dreams and pursue the education she was once denied. For many, stepping into a classroom for the first time marks the beginning of renewed purpose and self-belief.

Healing, Counseling, and Emotional Support

Most girls arrive carrying heavy emotional burdens caused by forced marriage and trauma. The school provides counseling and continuous emotional support to help them heal and transition into a safe learning environment. Through patient guidance and a nurturing atmosphere, they gradually gain confidence and learn to trust themselves and others again.

Empowering Girls Through Digital Skills and Mentorship

In addition to academic studies, the girls are introduced to essential digital skills through Learning Lions. They participate in an empowerment program known as TechDada, named after the Swahili word “dada,” meaning sister. Here, they are mentored by female graduates who have walked a similar journey and now serve as role models. Female volunteers from Learning Lions also contribute their time and expertise, providing mentorship that strengthens both confidence and digital literacy. This exposure equips the girls with future-ready skills and opens doors to new opportunities.

A Pathway to Higher Education and Independence

Many of the girls now dream of advancing to university and pursuing careers that once felt impossible—becoming teachers, designers, health workers, engineers, and more. With continued support, they can move from secondary school to higher education, breaking cycles of early marriage and poverty in their communities.

Why Your Support Matters Now More Than Ever

The transformation happening at Wakanda Girls Secondary School is only possible through the generosity of people who believe in the power of education and second chances. Your contribution directly supports a girl’s journey from rescue to recovery and from trauma to empowerment. Even the smallest donation can help provide educational materials, emotional support, mentorship, or future university sponsorship.

Thank You for Making Hope Possible

We are deeply grateful for the support that allows these young girls to reclaim their futures. With your continued partnership, Wakanda Girls Secondary School will remain a place where vulnerable girls find safety, healing, opportunity, and the strength to dream again.
