Solar Power With A Difference for Zimbabwe

By Clive | Zimbabwe Team

Life without Power
Life without Power

Hello to Our Eco Supporters!

It's finally happening and we are so excited that we can now tell you about this...

About 2 years ago we were approached by a solar energy team that had the whole idea to bring new portable solar power systems to life for Africa. Joining forces we supported the research and development teams based in the UK and Italy with this project and after 24 months the systems have been approved and are ready to dispatch to us in Zimbabwe.

We are getting 50 systems for free and in return we must provide them with feedback, now imagine living with no power for up to 12 hours a day... that is the way of life for us in Zimbabwe and so with these systems we will be able to power schools, local farms and homes so that children can learn without using a candle. Doesn't sound like much but it really could be life changing for us.

However we need to fund some parts to install the equipment and the in-country costs of getting these systems through customs so we really need help to raise around $2450. If these system really do support our project requirements in electricity then we would also love to start funding these in the future for all 200 schools we support in Zimbabwe as well as around 50 medical centres as this would mean we can finally run fridges and store critical medication within the community rather than making sick people travel around 200Km's to a hospital for medication.

We are very excited with this breakthrough and hopefully we raise the funds so our next update will be all about how these systems are working!

Thank You
