Innovative Solar Power for Zimbabwe

By Vuyo Mngomezulu | Personal Assistant to the CEO

Greetings, Supporters!

Two years ago, we embarked on an exciting journey with a solar energy team that had a vision to bring portable solar power systems to Africa. We supported the research and development teams based in the UK and Italy, and after 24 months of hard work, the systems have been approved and are ready to be dispatched to us in Zimbabwe. We are set to receive 50 systems for free, and in return, we will provide valuable feedback.

Imagine living with no power for up to 12 hours a day - that’s the reality for many in Zimbabwe. These solar power systems could change that.

However, we need your help. We need to raise around $2450 to cover the costs of installing the equipment and getting these systems through customs. If these systems meet our project requirements, we would love to start funding these for all 200 schools and around 50 medical centres we support in Zimbabwe. This would enable us to run fridges and store critical medication within the community, reducing the need for sick individuals to travel around 200Km’s to a hospital for medication.

We’d like to highlight a significant day - Giving Tuesday, falling on November 28th. It’s the most substantial day of the year for donations. Excitingly, GlobalGiving will match every new donation made on Giving Tuesday, amplifying the impact of your contribution on our cause and enabling us to continue our work for another year.

We’re incredibly grateful for your support and hope you’ll join us for Giving Tuesday. Please share our work and project with your friends and family, so we can continue making a difference together. Thank You!
