More Girls Stay in School Thanks to You

By Lisa Moore | Project Volunteer

Dear friends and family,

We are so excited to have been able to be out and about in 2023. It's been a while since COVID that we have been able to get back to our fully operational project and it is so rewarding to see the impact we make with your support.

With all your donations we have been able to fund silicon cups that last up to 10 years as well as thousands of pads, many girls can't afford sanitary wear and also feel embarrassed to ask their family as they can't afford it. As a result they take sick days and even drop out of school.

Our team doesn't just hand out products but we run workshops for girls and women to attend and we provide refreshments as many of these girls can't afford to eat so it gets them through the door. Once they attend our workshop our team of professionals run a workshop to fight the embarrassment and help the girls understand the normality of a period as well as show them how to use the cups and/or pads.

At the end of the workshop we find a minimum of 95% of the women are educated and converted and we provide them with sanitary wear to take home.

We aim to run a workshop each week for 50 girls or women but each workshops costs us around $350, every workshop to date has been funded with your donations, thank you
