Project Report | Oct 13, 2023
Reducing Period Poverty

By Vuyo Mngomezulu | Personal Assistant to the CEO

Dear Friends and Family,

We are thrilled to share with you the progress of our project. Your support has been instrumental in our efforts to provide essential sanitary products to girls who cannot afford them.

Thanks to your generous donations, we have been able to fund silicon cups that last up to 10 years, as well as thousands of pads. Many girls, unable to afford sanitary wear and too embarrassed to ask their families for help, often miss school or even drop out.

Our team does more than just distribute products. We run workshops for girls and women, providing refreshments to encourage attendance. Our team of professionals conducts these workshops to combat the stigma associated with menstruation and educate the girls about its normality. We also demonstrate how to use the cups and/or pads.

At the end of each workshop, we find that at least 95% of the participants are educated and converted, and we provide them with sanitary wear to take home.

We aim to run a workshop each week for 50 girls or women. However, each workshop costs us around $350. Every workshop to date has been funded by your donations, for which we are immensely grateful.

We are currently fundraising for 100 period products that would greatly benefit these girls. It costs $3 to fund pads and $10 to fund a silicone menstrual cup. We hope you will continue supporting us in this noble cause.

Thank you once again for your generosity and support.
