In Zimbabwe, poverty forces families to cut out essential hygiene products, and young girls suffer the most. Without access to proper menstrual hygiene, many girls miss up to a quarter of the school year, fall behind in their studies, and face stigma and shame. This lack of access maintains gender inequality, keeping girls one step behind their male peers and limiting their future opportunities.
By equipping schools and students with skills to make their own reusable pads, this project:
1.Keeps girls in school, giving them the opportunity to complete their education
2.Provides financial independence for schools through sustainable income generation
3.Reduces waste and promotes eco-friendly solutions for menstrual hygiene
4.Breaks the cycle of gender inequality by giving girls the confidence and resources they need to thrive
