A Cup Vs A Pad

By Vivian | Community Health Worker

We’ve loved seeing the impact of the silicon menstrual cups we’ve been distributing—they’re an amazing investment, lasting up to 10 years and giving women a safe, reusable option for managing their periods. It’s a real game-changer for menstrual health.

But here’s the challenge: these cups are expensive, and with donations slowing down over the past three months, we’ve had to switch back to distributing cheaper pads. While pads are essential, they’re not great for the environment and definitely not a long-term solution.

We don’t like this, and we’re determined to get back to sustainable support as soon as we can. That means raising more funds to restart the distribution of these silicon cups and training local health workers to run educational sessions. These sessions are crucial—they help break down the stigma and get women talking openly about menstrual health across Africa.

The good news? GlobalGiving’s Bonus Day is coming up on July 17! Donations made on that day will be matched up to 30%, so your support will go even further. If you can donate or share this with friends and family, you’ll be helping us bring back a sustainable, empowering solution for women’s health.

Thanks for sticking with us and supporting real change.
